    1 # Whitelist
     1# White Lists
2Whitelisting a domain means that it would be anti-blocked by any later
     3submission to any [BlackLists](https://www.mypdns.org/wiki/BlackLists) and
4ensuring that the DNS Firewall won't block this and proceed the DNS query and
     5answer process as usual.

     7## About Whitelisting domains
28This list have it's very own life, as this is a very very tricky one to maintain.
    39
4 The reason for that is, it have to balance between what is going on with a domain
5 that for several reasons might be blacklisted on some lists but not on others. It
6 can also be that a domain in general do 99,9& right, but because of it's nature
7 of user based submissions, could do a lot of evil.
10The reason why it's hard to maintain such a list is, it have to balance
11between what is going on with a domain, that for several reasons might be
12[blacklisted](https://www.mypdns.org/wiki/BlackLists) on some lists, but not
13on others. It can also be that a domain in general do 99,9% rights, but
14because of it's nature of user based submissions, could do a lot of evil.

    9 E.g. Gitlab
10 Gitlab is 100% user submitted contents, but for the same reason also a widely
11 target from bad guys to host there evil code. For that rightfully reason Gitlab
12 often pop ups on list for malicious code. But as that would have huge influence
13 on our workflow, it's of curse to be whitelisted.
     16## Why white listing
17If we take the example of [Gitlab.com](https://gitlab.com/my-privacy-dns)
     18
19Gitlab.com is 100% user submitted contents, but for the very same reason also
20a widely used target from bad guys, to host there evil code. For that
21rightfully reason Gitlab.com often pop ups on list for hosting
22[MalWare](https://www.mypdns.org/wiki/MalWare) code. Since this would have
23huge influence on [My Privacy DNS](https://www.mypdns.org/) and brakes the
24workflow, it's of curse have to be whitelisted within the
     25[DNS firewall](https://www.mypdns.org/wiki/DnsFirewall) projects.
